What is a Start-up Visa?

The Start-up Visa is a new category for “non –European” entrepreneurs looking to establish a business in the UK. Their scalable, economical and innovative business idea needs to be endorsed by the Home Office. 

Eligibility Criteria for Start-Up Visa

The following points make you eligible for a start-up visa.

• Endorsements should only be received from a government approved body listed here, before you apply for the visa.
• The endorsing body should remain in contact for six, twelve and twenty four months from the grant of leave. If contact is missed, or the individual’s business is not progressing, the Home Office should be informed.
• Your business plan should be approved by the Home Office and the endorsing body. It should display innovation, scalability and viability.
• You must have at least £1270 in your personal bank account before you file for an application and this should be certified by your endorsing body.
• You must satisfy the English Language requirement, Level B2 CEFR. This is higher than the B1 category.
